All right, folks. WoW roster is up, clink on the Members tab of the site and upload your CharacterProfile.lua (it tells you where it is at). I added some addons that I think we will love, especially Kal (has a missing recipe addon to the roster; it takes the recipes you have and compares them to a master database and tells you what you are missing).
And the blog part is in the infancy state. My vision for the blog part is simple. Make it what you want, as long as it is in character. I am going to use mine like the Drizzt Do'Urden journal entries at the beginning of each section in the Dark Elf series; I will be posting some of Kielon's philosophies and musings. That is just one way to use it; there can be a million more, just as long as it is in character.
Right now I am trying to figure out how to put the banner of the site on all the external pages, so it is seemless running back and forth between forums and roster, for example.

Also, I have placed a zip file with some addons into the meta site at www.metamorphosis.fm/downloads/WoWaddons2.rarThere is Character Profiler, Wardrobe, RecipeBook, RecipeRadar, FlagRSP2, GroupCalendar, a uniuploader that will make uploading character data to the site seamless once I figure it out and a couple of addons I hope get picked up and reworked for 2.01 that will enhance our RP ability, such as MyQuests, with the ability to create custom quests, MyNPC, which allows us to put custom scripts on world NPCs. So, check it out. You can always turn off addons you hate, Emi!

Wow. You really got a lot done last night in particular, Kielon!
It's coming along very well. Did you write the DoV history also?

First, let me say this is wonderful, and you are to be congratulated and thanked for all the hard work!
I, however, am about to pull my hair out. After wrestling with everything this morning, I think I have the uniuploader installed, but I can't seem to install the Profiler. I have the 12.mb zip file, unzipped, but can't find a fricking "install" button. There are two install thingys, one is an image and one as a file. The file has a couple of other files in it, and the image thingy says I need Microsoft Picture It! 2002 disk 2 in order to run. I dont HAVE Microsoft Picture it! disks (Though I suppose I might have in the past?) And have no idea whatsoever how to correct a default image selector, if that's the problem, or to find out if this is the right profiler, or why the install button isn't easier to find, or...or..or...
I'ma go knit for a while.

Wow Kielon - awesome! The roster is incredible! I've gotten everything working (so far) - but I had a few quick questions.
First - do we have to register separately at the journal site to post in our character journals? And can we have more than one (for our different characters)?
Second - Ephemeral seems to be an out of date addon - has it been adjusted to work with 2.+?

The Addons I posted are just a drop straight into your addon folder of the Interface folder in your WoW directory. So at the top level, after pulling down the rar file, once you unrar it, just unrar it to ..\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\ . It should just work straight away.
The journal site can handle multiple logins (unlike anything else to this point, unfortunately).
Ephemeral is out of date. So is MyQuests and MyNPC. I placed them in my folder so I do not forget about them, for I think they can easily improve our roleplaying in guild by about 1000%.

I was asked how I saw the journal section of the website fitting into the scheme of the guild. I mentioned the journal entries the are in the Dark Elf series, which are written by the main character, Drizzt Do'Urden. I have found a copy and am going to post it here, as an example:
THE FOG OF FATE
We are the center. In each of our minds-some may call it arrogance, or selfishness-we are the center, and all the world moves about us, and for us, and because of us. This is the paradox of community, the one and the whole, the desires of the one often in direct conflict with the needs of the whole. Who among us has not wondered if all the world is no more than a personal dream?
I do not believe that such thoughts are arrogant or selfish. It is simply a matter of perception; we can empathize with someone else, but we cannot truly see the world as another person sees it, or judge events as they affect the mind and the heart of another, even a friend.
But we must try. For the sake of all the world, we must try. This is the test of altruism, the most basic and undeniable ingredient for society. Therein lies the paradox, for ultimately, logically, we each must care more about ourselves than about others, and yet, if, as rational beings we follow that logical course, we place our needs and desires above the needs of our society, and then there is no community.
I come from Menzoberranzan, city of drow, city of self. I have seen that way of selfishness. I have seen it fail miserably. When self-indulgence rules, then all the community loses, and in the end, those striving for personal gains are left with nothing of any real value.
Because everything of value that we will know in this life comes from our relationships with those around us. Because there is nothing material that measures against the intangibles of love and friendship.
Thus, we must overcome that selfishness and we must try; we must care. I saw this truth plainly following the attack on Cap-
tain Deudermont in Waterdeep. My first inclination was to believe that my past had precipitated the trouble, that my life course had again brought pain to a friend. I could not bear this thought. I felt old and I felt tired. Subsequently learning that the trouble was possibly brought on by Deudermont's old enemies, not my own, gave me more heart for the fight.
Why is that? The danger to me was no less, nor was the danger to Deudermont, or to Catti-brie or any of the others about us.
Yet my emotions were real, very real, and I recognized and understood them, if not their source. Now, in reflection, I recognize that source, and take pride in it. I have seen the failure of self-indulgence; I have run from such a world. I would rather die because of Deudermont's past than have him die because of my own. I would suffer the physical pains, even the end of my life. Better that than watch one I love suffer and die because of me. I would rather have my physical heart torn from my chest, than have my heart of hearts, the essence of love, the empathy and the need to belong to something bigger than my corporeal form, destroyed.
They are a curious thing, these emotions. How they fly in the face of logic, how they overrule the most basic instincts. Because, in the measure of time, in the measure of humanity, we sense those self-indulgent instincts to be a weakness, we sense that the needs of the community must outweigh the desires of the one. Only when we admit to our failures and recognize our weaknesses can we rise above them.
Together.
Like I said, this is for you to do whatever you want. If your character writes poetry, put it there. If you wanted to compile a book on philosophies, like Nietzsche, then do that. Anything you want.

Start registering on the journal page so I can figure out the best way to group users so that each character is the only person that can post to the area.
I said forums earlier, but I still have to do that manually.

Ok, I registered...but I'm not entirely sure if that did me anything. I already had a section called "Polrena's Journal" (Aren't you nice!) but I dunno how to post in it.

I'm confused about the journal. My confusions are multiple:
1. Do I have to register separately for this? And if so, how is there already a Sorcha'Rei's journal? (And if not, then why can't I log in using the Metamorphosis name/password combination?)
2. When you say this part of the website can handle multiple logins and the rest cannot, does this mean I can register journals for Rheyna, Deyla, and Malka using the same email address I used for Sorcha?
3. When you say that the rest of the site can't heandle multiple logins, is that because logins there are tied to unique email addresses? And if so, assuming I have several email addresses at my disposal, can I then create separate site/forum logins using those for the other characters?
I guess that's enough confusion for one afternoon. The site is looking great, by the way.

1. Yes, you have to register separately for this part of the website. I apologize for all the different logins; once I figure out the connector that connected the forums and the site, I will try to get it to do the same with all the aspects. I added the first set of journals manually to match all the users that have already registered on the Meta site.
2. Separate journals for all the characters. I tested this with my alts, using the same email address and it happily took separate users for all the alts.
3. Yes. And yes. I am going to try to implement a part of the site tonight that will allow me to create *@metamorphosis.fm email accounts and allow you to check them on the site. This is my attempt to alleviate the inability to register multiple characters using the same email address. I waited to do this because the guys that host our email site were upgrading hardware this weekend, and I wanted to wait for the new server (we are, incidentally, getting a new web server sometime in February, as well).
And, of course, trying to get links up on all the pages, even if they are just small one word links at the top of the page, is a top priority.
