Hail Defenders,
I would like to announce that we will be starting weekly fund-raising raids this weekend. Each week we will pick one Defender who is strapped for gold and a time to get together to raid. Everyone who wishes should meet in Ironforge between the Great Forge and The Hall of the Explorers. Any defender of any season is welcome to attend. We then pick a place to go raid, empty it out and then donate all the spoils to the needy guildmate.
This weekend, we’re going to meet at 6pm on Saturday, July 9th. The Defender in need of our help is Fetner.
Next week will pick a new Defender to help and a new place to raid. If anyone can suggest people who may be in need in our guild, I hope you will mention their names to me.
It should be fun. I hope you can make it.
Steinar

Yes, I'm excited about this idea as well, it will give me a chance to figure out how to work better in a group.
Bring on the fund-raids!

Hello Defenders,
I’m pleased to announce that the first fund-raising raid was a rousing success. We decided to start with a fairly easy adventure in the Deadmines since we had only four Defenders and two of them had a time constraint. However, despite the low level instance, we raised almost 13 gold for our fellow guildmate, Fetner.
I forgot to take any screenshots of the mission since we were in a bit of a hurry, but I thought you might like to see a quick recap of the work done.
Damage Dealt for All Fights: [1.Finney 76438 (34%)] [2.Steinar 72135 (32%)] [3.Scythia 43671 (19%)] [4.LeBlanc 14015 (6%)] [5.Caspian 13596 (6%)] [6.Ulryck 5935 (3%)] [7.Stinkypete 1190 (1%)]
Damage Tanked for All Fights: [1.Caspian 6848 (34%)] [2.Finney 4155 (21%)] [3.Scythia 3599 (18%)] [4.Steinar 1928 (10%)] [5.Stinkypete 1653 (8%)] [6.Ulryck 1191 (6%)] [7.LeBlanc 840 (4%)]
Max Hit for All Fights: [1.Steinar 1129] [2.Finney 1111] [3.Scythia 665] [4.LeBlanc 199] [5.Caspian 139] [6.Ulryck 64] [7.Stinkypete 35]
DPS for All Fights: [1.Steinar 182.4] [2.Finney 84.1] [3.Scythia 67.7] [4.LeBlanc 47.1] [5.Caspian 22.1] [6.Ulryck 11.9] [7.Stinkypete 5.5]
Healing for All Fights: [1.Scythia 6936 (94%)] [2.Caspian 419 (6%)]
Please pay no attention to the level 45 hunter out damaging me, a level 60 warrior. I’m sure that’s just a miscount.
Again, I'd like to extend my thanks to Ulryck, Finney and Scythia for coming along on this raid. I'd also like to say thanks to Caspian, a level 19 paladin who was Ulryck's guest for the trip. I’m also sad that the guest of honor, Fetner, was unable to make it as there was other business that needed to be done at that time. I hope you can come on the next one.
And speaking of the next one, it's scheduled for this Friday, July 15th at 6pm. The guild member to help this time will be Quarmas, our guild quartermaster. Hopefully we can fill all the bags in his bank, buy him a few more, and then fill those. Everyone is welcome, just show up at the proper time behind the Great Forge. We will decide on where we go from there by who shows up.
See you all soon,
Steinar

Wonderful. Just a quick question: how do you get those statistics??

Ignore those statistics regarding my damage dealt. Steinar released me of any constraints that I may otherwise have had and told me to be "point elf". Thusly I thought that it was my duty to cut loose as much as physically possible... much as it was Stinkypete's duty, but in a much different sense of the term "cut loose".
It was a great time, everyone! Very impressive for a first attempt with 4 people in the deadmines. It leaves me very optimistic about upcoming adventures in whatever instances we can work on.
Barring any unforeseen obligations, count me in for Friday night.

I just noticed that the 19th season paladin tanked the most damage, and my own pet who I picked solely for the purpose of tanking was the lowest.
These statistics are real eye-openers.

Not much to be learned from that set of numbers. Caspian seemed to have a penchant for running ahead and seeing if he could draw the entire room at once. I got a little bloodthirsty, figuring the Defias swords wouldn't amount to much more than pinpricks. And most telling of all - I outtanked Steinar?
<laughs>

Thanks Vangelis. There are a number of user-interface additions that will track party stats. The one I used for this report is called "recap" and can be downloaded from ui.worldofwar.net/ui.php?id=859. It's user friendly and offers very detailed information. If other people use it, we should be able to sync them all up and get better statistics. Finney, the tanking difference you noticed doesn't surprise me. Caspian was an agressive player who jumped into battle despite my requests he hang back. His lower defense skill would cause him to be hit more often and for more damage. It's also possible that the damage numbers are a list of health removed instead of damage taken, the former being lower due to reductions from skills and armor. If that's the case, your higher level pet would lose less health from the same hit. Scythia, great tanking job! Next time, why don't we put you up front and I'll run around keeping everyone alive using mageweave bandages? Glad you all like the statistics. I think more detailed information is available. I'll see what I can pull out. Steinar

Doing the next raid for Quarmas is a great idea. It should be somewhere where we can can get him a pile of gold!
If I am around, I will lend my blade.

I'm looking forward to tonights raid! Hopefully we can get a lot of support. Quarmas could always need some extra room in the bank, I have a feeling he's going to run out fast if he doesn't.
I'll be there regardless! Hope to see a lot of you there!

I'll be there, of course.
I'm useful for more things than one! *giggles*
Any of those items that enjoy sticking to you ((BoP)) I'll gladly shard (shards can sell much better anyway... )... and I can make bags from the cloth found if needed.
And of course.... healing. That's if you aren't scraping me from the floor once Finney and I have run completely rampant. I tend to tank on accident, unless stapled to the floor *impish grin*
I have one request though. If I *do* heal... can I have some mana potions made before we go? *bats her eyes at Ire and Gudran*

I can not make my way to Ironforge either at the moment. We can still have the raid, although a bit late, if we can arrive soon. Otherwise we may need to postpone Quarmas' fund raising.
