(This posting was designed to introduce you to the House. Should you wish, you are more than welcome to add your own details, start conversation, or describe/introduce yourself.)
The Hall sits remotely in the wilds, its hard rugged appearance reflecting both the strength and the natural connection of its inhabitants. It is a long journey here, and treacherous for the unwary, but as the great wooden doors open and as the unmistakable smell of the den embraces you there can be no doubt that healthy rest upon abundant firs, deep conference, and hearty cheer awaits you within. Time now to lay down your packs, armor and arms.
Entering into the Hall of the Beast, you are met by the House Charter posted on a rough dais of stone and wood with a tilted face facing the entrance. The Charter is written on a massive scroll held in place by and an arrow at each corner and it appears to have seen some travels of its own, though the paper is still new. Though written in Common, the handwriting is clearly Elven. Beneath the flowing script you see the signatures of the guild members who have sworn oath to the Charter. An exotic feather pen sits along side the Charter, along with an ink well.
The construction of the House is Dwarven, with rough stone beneath wood and fur. The floor is tiled stone, and the craftsmanship of the Dwarves can be seen in the smooth supporting surfaces. The furniture is mismatched, and appears to have come from the four corners of Azeroth. Human designed items dominate, mixed apparently randomly with furniture of other origin. Though mismatched, they all have in common excellent workmanship.
The tables are amply provisioned with simple food and drink, but enough for a garrison. Apparently all who come to the Hall give to the ongoing feast from their traveling fare. Cheese, meat, fruit, bread, Dwarven ale, Elven fruit juice and water, piled high for all to share. There is a contented murmur of conversation, mixed with the deep breathes of the beasts who rest with their companions.
The far side of the room has a great hearth with a strong fire, and which casts a ruddy glow on the assembled company. Up above, you see a great window, facing East, which further illuminates the room. The combined light is both earthen and airy.
Upon careful inspection you see a recess cut in the ground near to the center of the Hall. Here the tiles have been removed and down about a foot is raw earth. Small sprouts of an unusual plant reach up tentatively.
On your entrance, several look up and welcome you in. You can feel that you are always welcome.

Approaching the "House of the Beast" Driz Naranek feels the strain of the days hunt! He has long heard of the great meeting place and shelter of the pack! It was a long journey to find this place but well worth the effort. As he enters the House for the first time he is greeted warmly by all you have taken rest and shelter there. He removes his pack and armor and disgards his weapons he feels at home here and wonders why he never sought it out sooner! He sits at the nearest table and partakes in the wine and fine food provided. He can finally lay down his head and rest in peace and prepare for the next days hunt fully rested and ready for the coming day!

As Merz stands in the doorway he realizes "Aye, this be not just e place of welcome, but it truely feels like home".
For a brief instant he scans the room, as if expecting his mother to call at him to take off his boots before entering the house...

Windfoot looks up and sees Merzmac's hesitation. "With all the beasts, the dust from our member's troubles, and Turi around, there's no point in removing your boots, Merz."
"Then again, maybe its the lack of women in our Hall..." He smiles. "Come in, come in. There is ale for you, and meat for Wolf here. I am glad you found your way home."
Windfoot turns back to what he was doing, which was sitting near to the hearth where a small depression had been hollowed away. He seems to be humming, or singing quietly to something down in the exposed soil. Down in the soil a small sprout can be seen, growing.

Arellaz pads in softly, still hesitating at the doorway...just in case. She looks around for her favorite fury friends, having missed them dearly while she was away honeymooning. She sees Master Merz and her heart warms. Arellaz walks over to him and puts her arms around his neck, whispering into his ear as she hugs him tightly.
"i am glad you have come. For many Summers now i have wished you would join my Family, knowing this would at last bring you Home. For all you have done and been for me, Master Merz, thank you."
Arellaz smiles softly as she slides away from their hug, the bond between them clear. She continues over to Master Windfoot. Quietly and with elvish grace, she lowers her body to kneel before the sprout. She closes her eyes and remembers the flower from which it came, and her heart soars feeling the Life. Opening her eyes slowly, she looks up and meets Master Windfoot's eyes. He knows it is peace and serenity she has found, a calming aura surrounds her soul. Arellaz nods gently and lowers her head again towards the new beauty.

Windfoot takes Arellaz's hand and leads it to the soil near the youngling sprout. Though the air is cool in the Hinterlands, the soil is soft and warm to the touch. "She is beautiful," me murmurs, impliedly thanking Arellaz, as if it were her child. Then in Darnassian, he continues his elven song, "There is no hurry little one. The earth, your mother, watches you grow And grow you shall, to sing with her in time. But be small now. Be at peace now." Finishing his song, Windfoot sits with his head tilted, listening. Then his looks to Arellaz and speaks softly, as if over a sleeping child, "It's a song I learned from Onu. She likes it. A tremendous gift you have given to this House... and to me, Arrelaz."

The massive Hall door's swing open to let the blistering wind rush in. A tall figure emerges from the night, cloaked by the shadows, the traveler slowly proceeds into the Hall. He lifts his bowed head and wipes the sweat from his brow. Looking around the traveler pulls down the white bandanna covering his face revealing a large, smile and announces "Finally! I am home!" Errow looks around and addresses his comrades, "T'is the first time I have set foot in this Hall, even though I have have held the insignia of a Defender for quite some time! I have braved the world to make my way here and hope to head back into the wild for an adventure and some excitement with you all!" Errow lets out a hearty laugh then a deep, regretful sigh. "For must be going again in search of advancement for my skills... Although I will return, my friends. Whether Elune take me from this world, or grant me one more day, I will return!" Errow steps back slowly and vanishes into the wilderness from which he came.

Windfoot pauses from his work. Slowly, the complexion of the Hall has been losing it's austere visage as flowers and foliage have come forth, springing from hidden cracks, or placed in small pots in the light. The once tiny shoot growing from the floor is already half the size of an elf, with a single flower growing on the stalk. The unmistakeable signs of an elven druid at work.
As Errow arrives and just as quickly disappears a small smile traces Windfoot's lips. "About time you showed up, friend."

On his cat he rides for travel, Fetner sees a glimmer of light in the distance. "Home" he says in his head. What rolls down his cheek is not tears of sadness but tears of joy and great-fullness. Fetner slowly stops his mount out side, and ties to a pole. Hesitant, he looks at this massive wooden door, knowing on the other side a family that loves him awaits. As he goes to push open this door, he stops and remembers the day he opened the door to his parents house the day he came back from training. He slowly pushes the door open, and with this the heat from the fire and the room brush his face and a warm feeling has over taken Fetner. Blinded by the lights, he glances around and sees very familiar faces. He makes his way to a fur covered chair and sits around a table filled with food for the plenty. Tired from the days journey he then digs into a plate of food.................

Driz makes haste to get back to The House of the Beast! He has been away a long time! He was finally back! After a grave injury had robbed him of his memory things were starting to come back to him! He once again remembered all his old friends and guild mates and the great times they had together. He longed for the comforting fires and the solitude of the House of the Beast. His only fear was that his old mates would not welcome him back with open arms but he had to try! As he approached the House his heart raced he was back and it felt good! He pushed open the doors and entered the House as he walked thru he noticed alot of new faces and faces he thought he'd never see again! He bowed before Master Danano and Lord Kalmorith! My Lords I have returned And would like to rejoin The Defenders I am sorry I have been gone a long time I was injured and had lost all memories of my past life but I am back and here to serve!

Post by Muzzler on Nov 26, 2005 15:46:16 GMT -5
Muzzler has been away for some time in search of his friend Driz. We were on a hunting trip one fine clear day and all of a sudden clouds began to form, lightning struck near our camp, and the wind howled like I have never seen it do before. Thinking it was a mere Strom we decided to dig in for the night. However things were not as they appeared. Something sinister was at hand. Out of the dark sky came a vile and evil dragon and plucked Poor Driz out of our camp and flew into the dark night. I called upon my brother Soltus and we began our search to find our Friend. After many months we found him being tortured by this vile creature. We sprung into action and freed our friend but alas he was gravely injured and near death. We took him to our brother Rygel that was meditating in a temple near Astranaar. He used his healing powers to return him back to health and bring back the memory this vile creature erased from his mind. We are back now and want to return to our beloved family..

After a long journey, Ulryck finds the great halls he has been directed to enter. The Defenders of Valor's very own....House of the Beast.
He draws near to the entryway and turns to the great grey bear plodding beside him. "A'right Stinkypete, ah know yew wanna go in wit meh. Ahm jus' no' sure 'bout this place an' ifin they let beasties in their halls. Yew 'member wha' happened when yew came in wit meh at th' Stormwind cathedral, eh? An' wha' wit yer arse blastin' out farts like a bloodeh goblin howitzer....imma thinkin' jus' tull ah see how thin's work in 'ere, yew best wait outside." the bear grunts as if it understands Ulryck and sits down on the soft earth outside the entry.
Ulryck enters the hall, nervously. It's been awhile since he had the courage to mingle with people again. He walks in hoping to go unnoticed. He reaches the main hall and feels the warmth of the fire and the familiarity of the dwarven stone and other artifacts in there and begins to relax, his nerves loosening.
Finding the table of food he begins to chow down and then notices he is not alone. The other hunters in the room turn toward his sudden entrance and watch him curiously. Realising that the table of food is for everyone, he decides to make a contribution. Pulling a skin of stout from his sacks, he begins to put it on the table. He hesitates, then withdraws the skin of stout. He grabs some cheese from his sack and then places it on the table with a smile.
He finally looks up towards the onlookers and sheepishly waves. "uh...hullo there! Ahm....Ulryck Swiftaxe. Ah was tuld t' come 'ere ifin' ah was lookin' t' join yer...uh...guild?"
