A large piece of parchment in Vangelis' strong, simple script is hung in a prominent place in the Hall of Ensign.
=== begin parchment ===
The House of Ensign
As standard-bearers for the Defenders of Valor, members of the House of Ensign are expected to know and uphold the Code of Valor to the best of their ability. When a member of the House of Ensign is asked, "What is the Code of Valor?", the reply is:
"Maintain your team, your honor, and your character! (Sir!)"
Recruits who can repeat the above summary of the Code of Valor, and have posted their bio in the guildhall, will be promoted to full membership in the ranks of the Defenders. In token of their membership in the Defenders they will receive a tabard; in token of their membership of the House of Ensign they will receive the standard-issue black shirt of the House. The shirt and the tabard are the expected attire for formal Guild occasions.
Members who attain their 40th season are eligible for promotion to the rank of Veteran. In order to qualify for advancement, they must complete a quest that is set for them by the Lord of Ensign and share the tale of the quest in the guildhall.
Members who attain their 60th season are eligible for promotion to the rank of Champion. In order to qualify for advancement, they must successfully duel a season-60 opponent of the House of Ensign, plus one opponent from each of the other three Houses. In addition, they must write (or be a major contributor to) an epic tale in the Guildhall, or plan and host a Lord-approved guild event.
