Greetings, Defenders!
Here I scrawl my story, and I beg you forgive the blots and smears I am sure will disfigure this letter. They always do when I set quill to paper.
First, I must ask you to forgive the lateness of this account. I failed to cajole any number of childhood friends into writing this for me. Cajoling takes time, you know.
Well then, here is a bit about myself and why a child from a family of mages chose the priesthood above magery. My family was against my choice, all except my eldest brother, Auden. I grew up in Stormwind's mage quarter, where I was content to escape the care of my elders and make other such mischief. As a student of magic, I was indifferent but never questioned the path mapped out for me as a Lorne.
A few years ago an aunt who was fond of me persuaded my parents to let her take me to Darnassus on a business trip. There I wandered into the Temple of Elune and felt the Holy Light within me. I will say little beyond that of the experience. Words cannot contain it.
Alas, even that was not enough to propell me out of my inertia. Shortly thereafter, though, my brother Auden was found staggering in Ashenvale, bereft of companions and magic. No expense was spared to treat the scion of the Lorne family. Mages and doctors poked and prodded his mind and body.
Priests ministered to his soul. And it was from them he seemed to take comfort; his anguished murmurrings abated, and his eyes would see the world around him rather than the horror of whatever befell him and his companions.
Watching Auden suffer, I found myself turning again to the Holy Light. Soon Auden was taking comfort in my presence almost as much as from the priests'. When finally I took the step of becoming a priestess, I felt I no longer had a choice.
Lonely, I stumbled through my first seasons searching for a guild, a place to call home on my travels. I heard only good of the Defenders and decided to speak with Lady Polrena, who made me welcome.
I thank you for making me welcome and will strive to be worthy! May the Holy Light shine brightly upon your path.
