"As many of you may know by now, I am Polrena, honored to be named Lady of the House of Virtue. My task in this role is as guide, mediator, and teacher. If at any time you have any questions of me, please feel free to ask! "I hope you will feel at home in these Halls. The first step, then, is a tour! We begin here, at the entrance of the Halls of the Defenders, snuggled within Elwynn Forest, just outside of Stormwind." She gestures at the doors you have just come through: (( housesofvalor.proboards40.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1128211383))

Polrena smiles at you, beckoning you to follow her. "There is plenty to explore in the other wings, but for now, let's visit the Virtue Wing, where you may choose your quarters." "This is the first floor. This floor houses our clinic, which accepts petitioners and patients who cannot afford to pay the fees of physicians elsewhere. Our work there is humble, but we do hat we can for those in need. We accept donations, but these noramlly come in the form of chickens or grains." She smiles. "Our dining hall is here as well, but many members take meals in their rooms, in the field, or with members of other Wings. The kitchen and pantries, through there, are available for any member's use, but we do ask our chefs to cooperate. Territorial kitchen disputes are not in keeping with the ideals of the Light!" "We have quarters available for any assistants you may have brought with you, or we have staff who can assist in armor fittings, message transmissions, meal delivery...they are very versatile. Use the comm if you need them, though; please do respect the servants' privacy."

Turning, Polrena ascends a set of stairs. "This is the second floor, which contain the bulk of the member's quarters. Additional servant quarters are in the north and east, but we don't need to visit them." She opens a door, and steps back. "The temple of the Light and altar to Elune are on this floor. As you can see, we have recently finished renovations to the temple." The temple room contains an altar at the south end, which is supported by a larger dias. On the dias and around the room are large pillows, chairs, and tables. Not a statue or pew is in sight. Tapestries hang on the walls, depicting various scenes. Some are golden landscapes, others represent battles. Bookshelves and tables with candalabras and writing implemetns are located against the walls between tapestries. "Feel free to come in any time to study or meditate. The altar to Elune is still undergoing its own renovation. There seems to be an issue with the design."

Another set of stairs finds you on the third floor. "I'm not quite sure what I was thinking, moving up another flight of stairs, when the clinic is downstairs," Polrena laughs. "Most Defenders themselves don't use the clinic, of course. Normally I find them wounded in their own rooms or wings. Sometimes the sentries at the entrance alert me, but they still don't go to the clinic. They sort of pass out on the floor of the entry way." She frowns momentarily, as if puzzled. "My quarters are in the north, then, as are the pensioners' quarters. We don't turn away our servants and members who have retired, you see. They are free to stay as long as they wish. There is a gnomish contraption in one of the corners....over here." She points to a platform surrounded by a gate. "I won't use the thing, myself, but it's easier on some of our pensioners to use it, instead of the stairs. NEVER enter the gate if the platform isn't there!"

"Please feel free to explore and make yourself as comfortable as you wish. You may redecorate your rooms any way you like, as long as you feel comfrotable! The Ensigns are always happy to help us." She smiles, her eyes shining.
"Blessings of the Light upon you, and welcome to the Defenders!"

*grins*
Lady Polrena, Tatoo will be available until dusk. Oh, and don't tip him - an honest day's work is it's own reward!
*leans down to the gnome*
It's this or another week working at Vangelis' field at six in the morning. Hrm, and it's almost time to start sowing seeds!
*walks off, plugging his pipe back into his mouth and humming*

I certainly did not mean to imply the Ensigns as a whole are expected to play a beast of burden! Tatoo, of course you don't have to assist our members if you don't choose to! There are, after all, many servants and paladins who would more than welcome the chance to show our members how strong and handy they are. *wink*
Thank you, Doc, for your kind words of support! As you know already, it will be most helpful, I think, if the Ensigns were well aquainted with the healers who will be saving their lives. *grins broadly*
