Well, I've started. Wish me luck. Not feeling like it fits on this forum, I've started my next manuscript here: theunderhill.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=aerliand&thread=10As you can see, the Underhill is a place for me to put my writings. I am editing A Coward's Tale and hope to have it fully revised eventually. I have a few other odds and ends that I need to gather and post as well. It was tremendously motivational (even inspirational) for me to write A Coward's Tale with feedback and encouragement from your guys, so I've decided to write my next effort on a forum as well. You are welcome, but not obliged, to wade in and comment any time. I have a vague idea of where I'm going with A Gathering Storm, but I'm mostly going to let it write itself. It's a fantasy novel is set in a frozen land, called Aerliand, and follows the escapades of Borelin Rocca, an old soldier turned farmer (where have I heard that before?), and his unusual charge, Rook.

Nice beginning! Interesting setting. Of course, now I'm going to be worried, because a lost boy in a storm brings out all sorts of mom issues, so you'd better keep writing. I think "profane curse" is redundant. I really only point that out because it was the only flaw I could find, which is pretty rare. I find a lot more than that in my own drafts.

I liked "profane curse". There's an implication of it being something more than just a thoughless mouthing of syllables.

Thanks guys (erm gals). There are different kinds of curses. My use of profane to describe the curse is intentional. I would love to read an edited version of A Coward's Tale, Troy. There was a lot of good stuff in there, and Robb and Copper are very interesting and well-drawn characters. I expect it could pretty easily be made into a stand-alone (not particularly WOW based) fantasy novel itself. You can find the edited version on the Underhill site (incidentally, it's "PG 14" not "R"). You are probably right that it could be revised to disassociate it with Azeroth, but I feel that would ruin the pleasure of the text. A Coward's Tale traces through familiar places and presents the WoW quest lines in a unique way.

Thanks, Bud. I may need some of your uber cool art at some point, for a bestiary, or artists impression of the characters, or something Incidentally, if any of you DO read the story, please do not hesitate to give me comments and feedback. It is always appreciated, and can only make the story better. I continue to mull over "profane curse" - which is good! Cheers p.s. Chapter 1 is done, if you're interested. It's about 15 pages, so should not be too daunting.

pps - when/if you come on over to read my scribblings, please crease an identity so that I can see who has come to visit. It's not required, but I'd so appreciate it...
