So when I was in EPL running the 10-minute Balnazzar group, I decided that I needed to take revenge upon a group of mobs that have caused much havoc among people in the zone... they are feared so much their passage or strikes are recorded in a zone-wide channel to let all wary travelers adjust their path accordingly.
Yes, I soloed the Crimson Courier and group... had to use two cooldowns (insta-pet since I lost one, and soulshatter - anti-aggro). Other than that... it was pretty easy and it felt really, really damn good.
How did I do it? When addressing incredibly difficult odds, it's always key to be patient as a demonologist. Keeping your pet up and with aggro, along with all the crowd control you can muster are key. You do this by spreading damage thin. By having my pet change targets after every taunt, it keeps things controlled. As soon as control is lost, that's the time a warlock turns into a mage without frost nova or blink. One thing I do from time to time when things are looking dire and I cannot heal my pet, I move into melee and cast my fear bomb, then I sacrifice my pet (demonology talent), then I hit my cooldown that is almost an instant cast pet (also demonology talent), then bring a fresh pet in. Yes it erases all aggro built up by the previous and costs 2 extra shards normally with a soul-shatter in there, but the new one is ready for action almost within seconds.
I didn't think to catch a screenshot, but I really just wanted to share that tactic with the up and coming locks just in case you're feeling saucy and like to fight more than three at a time regularly.
Fyi, I was at half mana and half health at the end.
That being said, I've just the other day seen an affliction lock do just about the same thing with six level 70 normal mobs (which have about the same health and power) and he was in better shape truth be told... hmm...
