I thought I would put this suggestion forth and see what people think. Let me lay down a bit of a foundation for it first.
Continuity in RP and story is hard to keep consistent between in game and on the board because time moves considerably faster in game. Yet sometimes in game you have a RP scene happen that you think would be good to share with others but OOOPS, it won't fit into the continuity of the current stories. And it is such a small little bit that by the time the story has moved along far enough for you to wedge it in, you've forgotten what happened. Darnit. Or what about those wonderful little snippets of RP in game that should be shared because they provide a bit of valuable insight into the character but they are not substantial enough to build a story on?
Vignettes!
Definition:
Main Entry: 1vi·gnette
Pronunciation: vin-'yet, vEn-
Function: noun
Etymology: French, from Middle French vignete, from diminutive of vigne vine
3 a : a short descriptive literary sketch b : a brief incident or scene (as in a play or movie)
Adventurer Journals is a lovely place for stories, but I believe the perception of that area is that it is for meaningful or expansive stories and RP. If we added a section called Vignettes (or something easier for others to understand. I'm just a literary junkie and like big words) it could be an area for just these little scenes. A place where people could put up little tidbits of story and RP that are getting lost. I know I have had a number of bit scenes that it would be fun to share but felt they were too insubstantial to be considered "real" story material.
As well, in the Vignette section it would be understood that each Vignette can be a standalone piece, that no reply is expected. HOWEVER, (I love howevers ;D) it would also be understood that any other's that had been involved in that scene could reply with their point of view on the same events.
And if it doesn't work out, people hate it, whatever, you just take whatever little pieces were posted, move them to the Journals, and forget that it ever happened.
