With easy, fluid steps, a hunter makes her way quietly across the courtyard to the Halls of the Beast. A map of the area, committed to memory already, is tucked in one of several soft leather bags carried on her belt. On her heels is a large shaggy wolf, yellow eyed and silent, as are the wings of the owl that follows her everywhere. Her armor, a mixture of leathers and carefully tended mail, makes no sound as she steps through the entryway.
Inside, she sees the fires lit, a large scroll on a table nearby, and several large tables and chairs - a fit welcoming place, but not for stopping in. She turns down one hallway and then another and finds, as she expected, a small room - low ceilinged - with a slip of paper and her name on the door, as the letter told her it would be.
She removes it and steps inside; the owl perches on the bookshelf and the wolf carefully noses the corners before returning to her side. Her trust in his sharp ears and nose is evident.
I cannot stay in Teldrassil, or even Feathermoon any longer, she thought. I cannot go home. They say you can never go home, and I suppose after all this time, they may be right.
Unslinging her bow and quiver, she carefully lays them on a small stand. One of her two gleaming axes joins them. The other, she places near the bed. Then, after removing and laying her heavy armor out for air, she slips on a soft leather jerkin and kilt, tucks a dagger into her belt, and goes to find someone to whom she can report, the wolf close on her heels.

As usual, Tim is the first to hear the approach of anyone, friend or enemy. She can tell by his stance that this time it is not just a human or an elf, but another beast. Moments after his alert she hears the knock on the door, and rises to answer it.
The two elven women greet one another after the manner of their kind, while the two wolves sniff and eye one another as is the custom among wolves. Among two males, the next step would usually be a fight for dominance, but these wolves are not wild. Being in Tim's territory, the visiting wolf sits down near his mistress, not submissive but not challenging either. Not needing to defend anything, Tim also relaxes and retires to his usual corner, leaving the women to talk.
"Angoleth, I'm very glad you have arrived," Celera says. "Thelanya wrote to tell me that you would be coming. Please, tell me more about yourself, and what has led you to the Defenders."

"Myself?" Angoleth replied slowly, and then continued in a matter-of-fact way, comforted by Elyas' weight on her feet.
"First of all, please - call me An. I've never much cared for Angoleth. Sometimes I think my parents thought I was going to be a son, and not a daughter, with that mouthful of a name."
She smiled slightly, before continuing; "I am not a young elf, I suppose - I have been a wanderer for many ages. I grew up in the forests of Kalimdor, when the World Tree was blessed and blessed us all. My mother was a priestess, my father a druid. Their pressure on me to become a priestess of Elune, to follow my mother's powerful footsteps, was very great when I was a child.
Discovering, however, that I could not heal, could not channel light and song, they transferred those wishes on my sister - who excelled at it beyond their dreams. I tried for awhile the training of a druid, but I could never find the Emerald Dream except in fleeting glimpses. So I left, unable to deal with the disappointment of my family, and my own disappointment with myself.
You learn a lot about the forests when you live in them on your own, as I did for that time. I picked up bits and pieces of information, small skills that slowly transferred into my becoming a huntress. My formal training is slight, really - just what I could pick up from travellers and occasional teachers in small villages. At some point I found a young wolf pup, and chose my name to be Isera'duna - Wolfwalker. I made my way around the northern part of Kalimdor, never straying too far - many dangers then, and growing. Eventually I ended up in a contingent of Sentinels, fighting under Shandris Feathermoon at Mount Hyjal. In the end, it was the victory that mattered, but the price was great.
That was the last I'd heard solid news of my family, really. My parents were both killed in the battle, but my sister survived - a priestess in the Temple of Elune now, I guess. I don't go to Teldrassil often, and certainly not to the temple. I imagine she'd not recognize me anyway, but I'd rather not take the chance. Teldrassil just makes me nervous, in general. I prefer the outpost of Feathermoon Stronghold, perhaps simply because it's a connection to my former commander. I'm only just now, after all this time, taking up the insignia and fighting as a Sentinel again - much to the enjoyment of Elyas, here. He's quite fond of troll...
As for finding the Defenders, I ran across one of your number, Emizael, awhile back. He and I have become friends, and through him I met several other Defenders. I'm not one much to have a home - I've always moved from place to place, but lately I have wished for a place to which I could return if I needed to rest. And so I looked up one of your number, Thelanya - the one who wrote to you, and she directed me here and had a room prepared."

((Nice! And I like the use of colour to signify a character's "voice," sort of like a signature (a habit which I started, but strangely have not done for Robb yet.../shrug...what colour, I wonder...pink? hmmm... ) But I digress. I think you have chosen "teal." Given the grey background, the colour makes the text a bit hard to read. It is possible to use colours not in the default options, with the right code (see: www.immigration-usa.com/html_colors.html for reference) Teal is a bit dark.Perhaps color=33CC99 would be easier to see? Just type in the letter and numbers in the color= field, like this: [***color=33CC99]Perhaps color=33CC99 would be easier to see? [/color] (without the stars of course).))

((spiffy - didn't know that this board would let you do that. modified and easier to read! though perhaps with her penchant for red armor the text should be red *grin*))
