(all OOC) With the fact that traps can now be detected in PvP after the latest patch, I'd love to hear from the higher level hunters who PvP as to what they think of the "change" (I won't call it a nerf, because I don't know that to be true - it's just what I've read from just about the entire hunter community on WoW.com). Oh, and check this screenshot of a trap out. It's about the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. Hunter Trap 1.10 patch

((I think they are only detectable by rogue's using detect trap. I could be mistaken. But, as far as pvp. In order for a rogue to beat a hunter it will take a lot more skill than just seeing my trap! /grin))

I've been catching some of the buzz on this too, and ...*hopefully!* it will be only rogues that can detect traps...but..I've noticed in PvP recently, that..even if they watch you kneel, most Horders, especially shammies and warriors, just charge you anyway!
Sometimes, you can watch the enemy target hunter, kneel to the ground, and you just know he's set a trap, so..of course, you don't go near him, but..as far as our side goes...
Horde tactics in most battlegrounds usually seem to be one defensive team, and the rest, offensive.
Heck, nine outta ten times, I could drop a trap, they'll still charge me, and I might get one of the four or five, or..27...as happened in the last AV...and If I can slow even one, and then let my backup crew blast the crap out of the rest, then I feel like I did my job.
Also, I had a rogue disarm my trap in a duel the other day...did NOT see that one coming...

ooh, disarmed a trap! I have not seen that before either. Not too worried about it though. Like you said, most of the time, even if they see you lay a trap they are going to keep on coming.

Is that the case? Only rogues can detect the traps? Well that would be better than everyone seeing them, anyway...
So, I had my first ever PvP experience, in Stranglethorn Vale the other night while hunting with Thelyana ((Celera's alt)). All of a sudden, I have a rogue kicking my butt up and down the place, and I can't shake him.
Once I rogue's onto your scent, is there anything to do aside from just whip out your melee weapons, sic your pet on him, and pray?

Here is what I do when I get jumped. After stun wears off as quick as you can hit wing clip and run away. As you are running away, call off pet, FD, freeze trap. Get up, get some distance between you and him. Ice should hold him long enough for you to aimed shot, concussion, send pet, sting, arcane....if he is still standing, which I doubt, but if he is he will be in melee range by now, wing clip again, get some distance and light him up.

post from blue:
in other words, it seems they will be like rogues, when you get close to the stealthed trap you will see it. I only hope it doesn't have the sound like rogues do.

Well, look on the bright side of this one...human rogues will never fall into a trap again, unless they just got really unlucky...
But I agree totally with Sor on the SV rogue example, wing clip, distance, feign, trap, blast away. 'course, sometimes, they do just get the drop on ya, and that's when you really go hunting...I fought a shammy from Goldshire all the way to Zul'Gurub the other night...he'd get me, I'd chase him down and get revenge, then he'd get me...it was kinda funny, and ..in the end, we sat there in front of the instance gates, doing silly emotes, till the Troll Guards respawned...
