I know, I know, I'm the friend who only shows up when I want something! I've been fine, if a little lonely and busy working. =)
Now on to the prayer request:
My friend is a Wiccan, but I don't suppose he'll hold it against me if I call in the big guns on his behalf... He has diabetes, and had a callus that lifted and got infected. He took antibiotics, the docs thought it was fine til he woke up Friday with black toes. He had surgery, and they had to amputate three toes and half his left foot. Right now they're calling it staph, and hoping he doesn't get the super-resistant kind. Tomorrow the docs check to see if they have to remove any more, and he'll have to have some kind of sponge-suction thing on for the next few weeks to try to prevent further spread.
I'm praying they don't have to take any more of his foot, let alone his leg, that he'll be ok and there won't be any complications, and that he'll adjust well mentally to the loss, as will his wife and son. I'm praying their finances and disability insurances kick in smoothly, and that this will help him take better care of himself in the future. If you guys can see your way clear to pray with me, I'd sure appreciate it. Thank you. =)

What a difficult experience for the whole family! It sounds like your friend is rather young to be experiencing such severe repurcussions from his diabetes. It's a horrible disease, and apparently becoming more prevalent than ever.
I'm not so much with the traditional prayers these days, but I'll send some good vibes out to the universe or something.
And stop by for any reason at all! We miss you!

Heya Pol!
Sorry to hear about your friend. Diabetes run in my mom's side of the family, so I know how tough it is. I will keep you and your friend in my prayers. Good luck! I am there with ya in spirit!
Oh yeah, and stop on by more often!

Thanks, I appreciate it!
The docs had to take more... all the toes and about half the foot, now. He seems to be in good spirits (though, that might be the drugs...) and he and his wife seem to be doing pretty good about the whole thing, for which I'm relieved. His hospital stay's been extended to at least another month.
In fact, I think he and his wife are taking this whole thing much better than *I* am. I was pretty freaked out and scared that we'd lose him. It meant a lot to me to know I could come here. Thank you again. =)
Also, for what it's worth, he's not all that young, I don't think- at least, he's not around my age. I think he's in his 40 or 50's. It wasn't even like he was ignoring the infection- he was under a doctor's care and had antibiotics, and everything.
