Mass EffectI have been following this games development for like 4 years. I think I am going to buy an XBox 360 just for this game. Very deep and immersive. I like the fact that Bioware's goal in creating this game was to give the ultimate storytelling experience: a true RPG. I am looking forward to it, anyone else?

Definitely! I've had my 360 for a while so I could play Gears of War, and now Halo 3. This is really gonna be the first 'GOOD' RPG to come out for it, I think. I'll post a full length review of the game from the ol' mace rogue's point of view when it hits shelves.

Val, if you don't play Conan with me, I'll cry. And are you going to get Hellgate? I've been grappling with whether to get it or not.

Yes, I am going to play Conan, Age of Conan anything with super manliness.
And I downloaded the Hellgate Demo, it's promising, enough for me to waste some time on a torrent file.

I think I'll rent Conan, not deep enough to buy. Mass Effect is on the must have list along with Assassin's Creed and Rock Band. There is no option other than total ownageship.

I have neither an XBox or a 360, so no handle for me... yet.
Oh yeah, another hijack, anyone else have a facebook account? I just started to say hi to old friends and thought it would be cool to see if you all were on at all.

Ok.... I've played Mass Effect almost all night and I must say... holy... shit.
This game is absolutely amazing. I'm splitting up my time between this and Rock Band though which is just as fun... but man, it's as of right now it stands among my favorite RPG's and I'm not even 1/4 the way through. The ambition in the game is simply amazing and frankly they pulled it off.
I would say this game alone would be worth shelling out the dough for a 360 if you were holding back... then you can get in on the rest (Assassin's Creed, Rock Band, Bioshock, Gears of War... on and on.)

Cool! I may still get a 360 (but I can get Rock Band and Assassin's Creed for PS3 anyways... Glad to hear it is living up to snuff!

Well I wrapped Mass Effect up and finished the beast. The core storyline is somewhat short - but extremely well produced and big budget, it's like sitting through 5 huge action movies. The acting is really well done, obviously the graphics are something to behold and the side quests are huge (in fact I still haven't come close to finishing those), but I'm not too interested in them. I'll tell you why in a sec...
The core storyline is amazing, and no one can dispute that. Many of the side quests are really cool and innovative. Especially the quests directly involving the crew you pick up and their history and whatnot. That said, the majority of the quests are very repetitive, using the same sets with slightly altered props and enemies. That wouldn't be so bad, but even the combat gets repetive at that point because the AI does the same thing no matter the species.
As a quick wrap up, this is definitely one of the great games to come along in a long while and if you were thinking about getting a 360, now is the time (lots of games here, just out and up and coming, too). The only negative aspect about it is the repetitive nature of the non-storyline quests.
Great job.
