Any bets or guesses as to whom the final Cylon model is?
I'm taking a leap and saying Gaeda...he's just so...smarmy now.

Any bets or guesses as to whom the final Cylon model is? Check out the “Last Supper” shot on the BSG site. The creators were answering some questions based on the photoshoot and they were directly asked about some things. The clues: There’s a missing person in the photo. A cup for someone who doesn’t exist between Lee and Tigh. There was also another hint dropped: Nobody that is in that photo that hasn’t already been outed as a Cylon is a cylon. That knocks out President, Adama (both of them), Baltar and Starbuck. My best guesses for the 5th Cylon? Dee (Loeben said an “adama” was a cylon, that would be Dee through her marriage through Lee.) Or Gaeta (Baltar knew something that would push Gaeta to try to murder him. He was also involved in the cylon detector.)

The Final Cylon has got to be someone without family... I knew that Baltar and Starbuck were too obvious for the last one so I knew it couldn't be them.
Your theory on Dee is a good one Kan... she's all but disappeared this season and I thought maybe she was written out until the sending off of lil' Adama. Gaeta is a good bet as well, but that would break my heart since he's one of my favorites.

Gaeta is one of my favorites, too, although probably for a different reason. (He's just so adorable!....I assume that's not your reason. Not that there's anything wrong with that... ) I don't think they've made the character nearly as interesting as they could have. He doesn't seem smarmy so much as just not very developed, especially compared to the depth of most of the other characters. But perhaps if he turns out to be the final cylon, that would beef up his part a bit. Is it possible that Baltar knows Gaeta is a cylon, has known it all this time, and keeps it a secret? Why? Is it possible that Gaeta has known all this time? When would he have discovered it? He can't have known when he was first on New Caprica. And also, why would that disappoint you, Fech? If the show is telling us anything, it's that being a Cylon isn't necessarily a bad thing. I read the thing about the "Last Supper" picture, but I wonder if it's a red herring. The thing about Baltar is that he has been projecting Six all these months -- as far as I can recall it's mostly the Cylons who seem to be able to do that sort of thing, whether they know it or not. If he's a Cylon, it would explain what has been going on with HeadSix all this time. On another note, it's been fascinating to see how the secret four have each dealt with their new identities -- and how for each of them, the struggle with being a Cylon is really just a bit of a new spin on the problems they were having anyway. Wasn't Tory always a bit calculating? (But now she has permission to follow her worst impulses, because Cylons are supposed to be machines, and evil and destroy humanity.) Hasn't Tigh always been tormented about his wife's death? (And for that matter, his wife's life?) Hasn't Chief always been sort of tormented about everything? About who he is and what he is supposed to do and how he feels so responsible for everything? Anders -- well, he has always seemed surprisingly composed for a man apparently so in love with a woman who gives him so little in return. So if Kara rejects him for being a Cylon, well, she's not very nice to him most of the time anyway. I don't quite get him. I like him -- but I don't get him. In the past, many of the weakest episodes have been the "filler" ones, like the ridiculous one about the black market where Lee was dating a prostitute or something (I can barely even remember it now.) But since they have committed to ending the story this season, they don't seem to need to do any more of that filler, which I think is why it seems like every week is a new masterpiece. I loved Baltar's speech at the end of last week, because I think there is a lot of truth in it. We are perfect the way we are. The problem is that we are also supposed to aspire to fulfill that perfection, not use the idea to excuse our bad behavior. It's a paradox, and most people just can't deal with that. If Van will excuse some amateur theologizing, I believe that Christianity, properly understood, (my definition of proper, naturally) contains a similar paradox. You are saved by grace, not actions, yet if you have legitimately experienced God's grace, you will have a new desire to act better -- not an excuse to continue to sin. However, I don't if this was the writers' intention, or if they just mean it to be shallow Robert Schullerish cheap ego-boosting. (My apologies to any Schuller fans.) Certainly there are those (like Tory) who seem to hear Baltar saying, do as you please because you are perfect no matter what you do.

Well...a little more depth for Gaeda...
Turns out he can sing.
Even with the grievious wounds he suffered, I still feel that Gaeda has a part left to play in the final drama.
So much to comment on still...Boomer, Athena...whichever...kills the Six that wants to ally with humanity..The Pres and Baltar together again, on the base ship to talk to the Hybrid, and the tantalizing teaser that the Hybrid gives to the Starbuck about how the Final Five came from Earth...
Now, I wonder very much what has gone on..and the direction that the story seems to be leading us in. Roslin has a vision of the Cylon's Heaven.." crossing the river" as Baltar called it..and Roslin begins to doubt her faith, and the scriptures that brought her so far...
Chief...man. I cannot really sink my brain into what he's becoming. A ways back, in the Temple of whatever near Kobol, Chief seemed to find this spiritual side, and his vision that the Temple would guide them to Earth seemed to me, at the very least, that he was finally finding something to believe in! Faith, His wife and child, his place in the fleet, and..saving humanity...but now... I guess it turns out that his child is half cylon...and that would make Hera just a little bit less special, now, wouldn't it?
And here goes the Chief, spiraling off into a seeming madness, lost and alone now, removing himself from the Grace of the Fleet...on purpose, it would seem...
I just want some questions answered dammit! Gah! Why the hell does the Opera House seem so damn important? Why is it that I begin to think that the whole fleet is really Cylons? I'm really starting to think that they all came from Earth in the first place, and none of them are *really* humans.
So...okay. If this season be the end, and " all will be revealed" as the opening credits say every week...well, all I can say is, I hope the ending is worthy of the series so far.
Enough meandering for now.

and..like, all I can say is...wtf?!
No..no..that doesn't express it enough...how about ...what the frakk is going on here?!
Oh man..I'm glued like to my seat here..
Also, either SCIFI.COM is a week behind in shows, or the Europeans are a week ahead, I dunno which is which, but, the next episode for me is called " The Hub"..and is apparently about sacking the Ressurection ship and the activities aboard the Basestar that jumped iwth Roslin and Baltar...
Sooooo...anybody see this episode yet?

I don't remember the titles, but last week's episode ended with Adama going off to look for Roslin. The episode that was on last Friday night shows the Three being unboxed, and Laura and Baltar on the basestar. So, yeah, you are about a week behind, I guess.
Every show has been great so far, though. Sometimes it seems like almost random things are happening, but it works for me.
I'm not sure I totally buy into the whole Presidential succession deal -- it seemed a bit too easy. But, I decided to just not worry about it. Lee is even cuter in civvies than he was in his uniform, so seeing more of him is ok, even if the story doesn't make a lot of sense.
Doesn't the last cylon have to be a woman? As it is, they have seven male models already...

The Hub was amazing - you are a week behind hehe.
Great scene with Laura and Baltar with the injury... I also think Baltar whispering sweet nothings to the centurions will come back to haunt us... did you see the teaser for the next episode??? OMG!
