Well, I've been hanging around here for a few weeks now thanks to Anna's awesome little RP thing, so I might as well introduce myself. *grin* I'm a 23-year-old first year grad student studying planetary science (specifically cratering). For the moment, anyway- most days I just really kinda hate it, so I'm debating trying something else. I've been playing WoW for over two years now, on my two mains (Lunauviel and Athorius) and of course the inevitable string of alts. I got into RPing about four years ago playing PnP-style Neverwinter Nights games, and haven't looked back. Aside from playing games, I like to cook (and unsurprisingly I am also a food network addict), and read...well, pretty much anything, but mostly sci-fi and fantasy. I let on to my guild that I read an entire book about salt, and they still tease me about it. Don't ask me about my sign or you're likely to get all the ranting an astronomy major can come up with. I mostly make up my character names. Ath was my first character ever, and Luna was I think my fourth, so at that time I knew nothing about WoW lore and tried to create fairly generically "elvish" names. Occasionally I'll use the generator to get ideas, and I've compiled my own database of names over the years, but usually these are just starting places.

I, for one, could read an entire book about salt. Well, maybe not a really long, War and Peace type book. And a number of people here share your interest in astronomy. So if we run out of rp topics, you will still have plenty to talk about Great to have you here!

Luna!! <waves> Glad to have you here!
Lunauviel taught Angoleth just about everything she knows about Huntering, and she has a giant crab. Who apparently, as of last night, spits fireworks. (You should really have Cris spit fireworks at Zed and TJ sometime... just to see what happens. Maybe they'd quit trying to barbecue him?)
And after seeing the DirtyJobs episode in the rock-salt mine, I have a new appreciation for salt. If it was anything like that, it was probably a pretty neat book!

*laughs* Zed is already mine...he may make jokes about "devil spiders of the sea" but I won when he broke down and healed Cris, and I have the screenshot to prove it. Tj would probably throw firecrackers back. After all, in the competition for world domination the victor is the last one standing. I miss hunter shoptalk. The only druid shoptalk where I'm not making it up as I go is resto stuff, and how many restos do I know? The superfruifs (Cionia, Kyrena, Opal) have been trying to teach me though. I don't think I'll ever really *like* tanking but at least I don't completely suck at it anymore. I am really looking forward to running 5-mans with Luna once Ath caps out- 5-mans are just about perfect for hunters if you ask me, because we get to use our full range of skills instead of just watching a DM and epeening at each other because we're all bored to death. The book was called Salt: A World History by Mark Kurlansky, and I highly recommend it if you like entertaining nonfiction. Truth be told I welcomed the salt jokes; previously I had read The Secret Life of Lobsters, which led to the now-infamous lobster sex conversation way too late at night on vent, and I was happy enough to see those jokes finally die.
